There are so many kinds of paintings in China. But the Chinese Ink Painting is my favorite, only using water and ink with a brush. And the color is only black and white. But it is usually black and yellowish, because the color of paper. As time going by,the advanced ink painting, called:Color Ink Painting,is colorful.
The followings are some main subjects in ink painting.
Portraiture
The subject is a person. This is the earliest type of painting in China.(The people in this picture is Sushi,a famous poet in Chinese history.)
Bird-and-flower compositions
Flowers,glass, bamboo,
stones,birds, animals, fish and
insects are the main themes.The
brushstrokes are neat and
attention is given to details.
Landscape
Nature is the subject. It became another theme of painting during Tang Dynasty. This form of painting developed most rapidly.
The techniques in Chinese Painting may be classified into the following styles : Gongbi,Xieyi,or a combination of both.
Gongbi Painting
The brushstrokes
are neat and attention
is given to details.
Xieyi Painting
The brushstrokes are less well-defined.Emphasis is placed on the overall expression and the painting is subject to the individual painter.
In Chinese Paintings, the ink is the dominant feature while colors are peripheral.Painters classify the black ink into five colors:concentrated, thick, heavy, thin and light.Black is considered a color and more colors can be represented by varying the intensity.
And white spaces are often seen in Chinese Paintings. They are considered a part of the painting. They add life to the painting and give room for imagination.
What is more, painters also draw on the folding fan or the fold screen. It is very popular with the ancients.
The Chinese Ink Painting is very wonderful,is not it?I like it very much.
